I remarked that in French, we often say "leftist" but we don't say "rightist", because it is considered as something negative to be right-wing, and the people used other expressions to define what they are.
In Israel, the situation is quite the opposite. It is a great pride to be right-wing and many parties are proud to be the "true right". And what about the left-wing parties? Most of them are afraid to define themselves as such, and prefer to say of themselves that they are "central".
